I often visit here to pick raspberries and blueberries. They now have a winery with wine tasting and food, and their WAFFLES with fresh fruit are the best in BC!!!! Great price for a huge waffle full of fresh picked fruit from the farm and whip cream, so delicious!!! They also have baked goods, fresh fruits and veggies, so clean and impeccable service. I take all my visitors here for a sweet breakfast and amazing price. They also have tons of gifts, and items for sale , great tourist attraction, except I go their for the quality of the food and fruit, sold year round.
Visited Aldor Acres Dairy today with my Son & Grand-daughter, we were super excited to see all of the farm animals & experience milking a cow! Although the initial video presentation of farm to table was too long..the rest of the tour was very interesting & engaging. The farmer asked for a show of hands for each 'family' group then proceeded to say we all had 'chores' to do before moving on to 'play' with the animals. The "highlight" for me was when one member of each group - my 3 year old Grand-daughter in our case, was given a bottle of milk & the goats were released from their pen anxiously bounding towards the row of waiting bottles..it was a very rewarding sight to see!! My Grand-daughter was elated watching the hungry goat chug away while feeding from the bottle she held in her hands. All in all the farmer, his wife & the whole tour presentation was well worth the $9 entry, they educated, they entertained, they provided insight into the hard work that goes into running a dairy farm today..you'll not soon forget this adventure..not till the cows come home!
I brought my family for a tour of the Dairy Centre this summer and was blown away by the professional tour we were given. The owner's themselves are the guides and are very knowledgable. My children enjoyed all the hands on opportunities...they all milked a cow, made butter, and fed a new baby calf!! My wife and I were amazed by the technology used in dairy farming today. An all round educational and family fun activity!
