Site is free to see. Good opportunity to see what a hero looks like and stands for. Great for kids to understand what and why schools fundraise for the charity.
Good place to take family members or friends visiting. Tourist people in building are helpful and friendly. The view is awsome. But the story of Terry Fox is inspiring
Beautiful setting , atop rocky site overlooking the majestic Lake Superior . Courteous costumer service and info centre , clean and well maintained
A great memorial to Terry Fox and a must see tourist attraction.Bring your camera for the great view!
The actual site has moved a couple of times and this one provides a nice vista and photo opportunity of the monument as well as a view of Lake Superior and the Sleeping Giant. Very clean and well kept site and lots of room for parking your vehicle or trailer.Sunrise is spectacular on a clear day as the world awakens with the light over the horizon.
A nice place to get away from highway driving and reflect on what effort it must have taken Terry Fox (22 years old during his marathon of hope) to run half way across Canada to raise money in hopes of finding a cure for cancer. This way-side rest just east of Hodder Avenue in Thunder Bay, is not only that of the amazing statue of Terry but where you will find a visitor information centre with well maintained facilities and a nice view of the Sleeping Giant
This monument is beautifully done. The grounds are nice, you can picnic at the site. Parking is good.
Awesome view and fitting tribute. Just a short drive outside of Thunder Bay but worth the trek. Make sure you take your camera.
The location of this memorial to Terry Fox is located on the eastern access to Thunder Bay and is a very picturesque location. The monument is exquisite!
On a clear day the view is spectacular of the harbor, and of the monument. Bring a lunch and picnic on the tables provided.A must see in this city.
The view is breath-taking and the Terry Fox story is so moving to many of us that stopping by is quietly reassuring of the ever-living strength of the human spirit.
The original site of the statue was on the other side of the highway. It is in a much better spot now! I remember when it was originally erected and when Terry Fox himself had to stop his cross Canadian Run for Cancer! A must to see!
I liked that the monument over looks Lake Superior. The monument is close to the location in which Terry stopped his cross country run for Cancer. The visitor information center is nicely setup for all to visit.
You will be moved by the location of this monument. I could imagine this vista might have been one of Terry's last memories during his Marathon of Hope. Everyone knows some of Terry's story, but bring your youngsters and your friends from far away to this stunning memorial for arguably The Greatest Canadian.
A must stop to spend a half hour at this monument to one of the greatest Canadians! Also the views of Sleeping Giant and the North Superior shore are well worth the stop.
