We went to this park for a reasonable priced boat launch. All the big marinas wanted way too much money....$30 to park and launch for the day, car, boat, trailer. The provincial park launch was very small. Maybe you could put 22 feet in at the most due to the water depth and toughness of parking due to length of vehicle hooked to trailer, trees, corners etc, but for $14 it was a steal. For all fishing boats it would be fine. Plus, a beach, bathrooms,....I would have camped here even if I needed to stay longer. It is a bit more of a distance to the main water as the bay is large before getting out to Georgian Bay big water. Glad I found it. As for the rest of the park, it seemed small, staff friendly, camp sites small, some may like the quaintness of it.
On the positive, the park is clean and the beach is nice. Campsites are terribe! The sites are divided by logs and even though the park is not very big, it feels more like a flea market than a provincial park. We had neighbours so close to us on both sides, that it was impossible to have a quiet conversation around the fire at night. I could also hear people snore in their tents at night! We were right by the water, with a not so nice view of a marina on the other side. We were also being woken up by motor boats every morning. We will definitelly not return to this park.
We booked our camping trip last minute and this was one of the last parks with avalibility. I booked it. I should have passed we pulled into a tiny park, whole place can be walked in 15 mins or less. The beach was incredibly tiny! No fishing docks, but you can fish off the rocks at the side of the beach. We laughed when we pulled into our tiny site #49 There was zero privacy, we had party neighbours across and the worst next. The sites were the smallest Ive ever seen at a prov. park. Ive been to many in the past. It felt like you were being stared at so we strung up our rope and hung whatever we could find across it so we didnt feel like we were partying with our neighbours. Our first night was a nightmare. The partying next door went from 6 pm til 3 am! they were drinking from a homemade funnel, playing beer pong which kept gettting lost in our sight. The music was blasting and the language was disgusting! Everything from F bombs to sexual. I had a 10 yr old son who was exposed to this I was suprised this was allowed in a prov. park! Thank goodness complaints were made and the animals relaxed and the party was over! OPP even showed up to spoil thier party.Everyday we saw park patrol out walking around so it was very safe. Washrooms were literally across the way and we had a water pump right behind our tent. They do not rent motorized boat, we went next door to the Marina and rented one.We caught only sunfish around the park. Out ont he boat along reeds we caught bigger fish.Driving down the main road outside the park but off the hwy, we came across a BEAR!!! He was in the middle of the road, so we stopped to let him cross. We also saw a deer, turtles & found frogs. We rode our bikes on the dirt roads, after we saw the bear, we didnt venture out.Outside the park on the main road you will find small grocery stores, a place for bait of all kinds, LCBO gas station and a fry truck. They do have a small store which sells very limited supplies and icecream. They sell firewood, ice as well.Overall I would never recommend this park as it had zero privacy and had a party atmosphere. We are going back to my fav Arrowhead or Kilbear in Sept.
My family and I loved this secluded area. It was serene and beautiful and we didn't want to leave. The place is very well managed and the cabins are newly renovated and the campgrounds are large. Great place for a summer away from the city. It is also 30 minutes off highway 69 away from Grundy park which is another park with an exquisite lake and beautiful scenery!
The park is nice but sites aren't very secluded. Previous reviews talked about lack of clearance. This is no longer the case. We got a 40' motorhome in no problem. There are no kids programs or hiking/biking trails. Lots of boaters and a nice beach.
