This is one of my favorite hikes just north of Orangeville. The car park is free and two of the trails go by the water. The trail on your left after going up the hill comes to a wooden bridge over the river. Go to the end of the trail and then have your lunch at the bridge on the way back. The trail on the right is a lovely walk by a small stream. Both trails go up and down and you have to concentrate on your feet. It is a beautiful spot for about four to five hours of hiking and after you hike go to the restaurant across the road, the Black Birch for a snack or dinner. They have prime rib on special after 5pm on Sunday. They are hospitable and I have turned up at 4pm before opening time and they have fed me anyway. I recommend the liver pate and a cup of tea or the liver pate and a glass of wine. Sit outside on the patio and enjoy the view.
