Luther March is a beautilful nature area, located about 25 km west of Orangeville.Good place for a silent hike.No service.
Luther Marsh is a wildlife perserve and there focus in on this rather than on tourism the scenery is quite beautiful, but one needs to be use insect repellent as they can be quite voracious. enjoyable for an relaxing day if one lives close, which we do. I would not make a special long trip for Luther Marsh as there are so many other places which provide more..
We were visiting family in the area so we decided to "explore" the marsh. It is about 2 hours from Toronto, if you are hiking it is not worth the trip from the city. We were there yesterday, late May, the day was cold. We were expecting to see some wildlife but nobody was there. We were told the birds and fowl were there earlier in the season. The place is beautiful and we walked about two hours, I would say about 7 Km. There is no staff, the payment of fees is self served. The bathrooms are out houses with no running water. I did not see any garbage cans so I assume take in - take out.
