They weren't making cheese when we were there, but the museum was still open with all kinds of old cheese/butter making devices to look at. Also, you could look down on the factory floor, which was interesting and would have been even more so if they had been working that day. They did have a very informative movie showing the whole process though, which we all enjoyed. Then we went down and sampled different kinds of cheese and bought a ton! This wasn't a planned stop for us, but added significantly to our Ontario adventure!

If you are in the area don't miss a trip to Pine River for great cheese. They have a wide variety of interesting products. Good for gift baskets.

Aged cheddar cheese of the highest quality made the old fashioned way. Just one of the many neat cheeses from all over the world that are available here. We have a cottage in the area and make a point of stocking up on cheese to take home. They have ice cream cones. This is a farmer's coop so ingredients are the highest quality. We love the cheese curds--the start of the cheese making process. It may sound cheesy but you can get tour to see how cheese is made. Established in 1885 and we've never had a bad cheese in the 80 plus years our family has shopped here or bought their products else where.
