I took my two boys. They were 7 and 14. They were things for both of them to enjoy. We stayed for 6 hours and they were never bored.
All this cold weather has me dreaming of the hot summer sun. Thinking of where I can take my children to enjoy some sun.. Thinking of the future and remembering the past. I was given several vip passes to wwk and decided to visit with my children and their grandmother. True story long ago I had a season pass to wwk and was floored this place hasn't changed! Okay I lie the green carpet was removed and replaced by brown and the hot tubs were removed. Some new attractions were added but that's it. This place hasn't been painted in a decade im sure. Entrance.. I was searched more here than I have been at the airport. Apparently you can bring endless amounts of fruit in but not food. My mother who is diabetic had her food taken away and was given such a small amount to take in with her. Apparently the staff at the front are doctors and can delegate how much food a person needs to avoid diabetic shock. The bathrooms are horrifying. I don't think they are cleaned at all.. Like ever.. Vomit worthy.. The food.. Don't bother.. You'll either get attacked by wasps.. Many many hives by the food booths or Crack a tooth on the stale food. I've had better food in third world countries.. That says a lot! This one lovely lady was sucking back cherries so fast ( must of been ten pints) and spitting her pits on the concrete.. No one says anything to her..and she must of hid food up her butt because she had more food than just fruit with her... This one older lady in the gift shop has zero customer service skills.. Zero! very rude. I can't talk about the slides as I didn't go on them as I have small children. Absolutely no shade.. Want my advice.. Go to splash works.. At least they have grassy patches you can get some shade and umbrellas.. Much more I can say but I'll end it by saying if you go here expecting a nice place you will be sorry. One thing is my kids had fun so as a mom that's all I can can ask for Wwk please update this place..
I like wild water kingdom for several reasons. Location, it is right by where we grew up. Price, much cheaper than going to Wonderland for the day. Crowds, the line ups were never too long. We always got in a full day of fun with minimal wait times.
If you love to swim and only happy about going for the water rides this is a good place to go and enjoy summer time cooling off!!!! You will have to ignore the other facts that the place is a bit run down and need some renovation. Sometimes if you reach late, the line ups are very long as well and it feels your turn will never come. But overall its a fun place to be if you love water. We had been here in June 2013 and we went again in June 2014 as well. If you buy tickets directly from them, they could be expensive to your pocket so you have to watch out for deals on the internet and can save and enjoy at the same time!!!! We usually carry snacks and drinks, come out for a while snack and then go back... All worth it.
We went for my daughter's birthday and we had a great time! Yes, the other comments are valid. It is looking rundown. I didn't think it looked dirty, but the fact that it needs a paint job.. all over the place doesn't help make it look clean.Aside from that, the kids have an awesome time which is really all that matters in my book.We did get a groupon deal otherwise, I would have rated poor as paying full price isn't really worth it.
a lot of fun but the line ups can be long. A lot of different things to do but some lineups are just horrible.
I confess I have somewhat mixed feelings about this place. On the one hand the slides and attractions they have are fairly standard and well maintained. On the other hand there are several abandoned areas and attractions within the park that have been left to rot and seem like dump sites from an amusement park that existed decades ago. The overall feeling of the park is ''cheap'' (not in cost but in presentation) and the lack of any new attractions, venues, or services really makes this waterpark seem more like a poorly funded playground than anything else... It's a shame because they have an excess of abandoned space in which to use for better and newer attractions. Somebody please buy this waterpark and put a bit of capital into it!
This place is a little old school. No doubt about it.But it's still a great place for a fun day of water slides and pools. I think the price is fair and my experience is that the staff is on the ball.
If you love to swim n only happy about going for the water rides this is a good place to go n enjoy summer time cooling off!
We have been to WWK many times especially when the kids were small. It is getting more and more expensive, so we don't go as often. Parking, entrance fee and food and drinks like water is expensive. Tube we usually rent so that is another $20 for us. So now we prefer to go North for swimming and fun.
My 1st impression walking into the park was that this place has not seen a fresh coat of paint in many years. I admit that maybe when it opened it was bright and beautiful but the management apparently does not see that as a concern anymore. Honestly, after spending the day there I am not so sure either. Here is why... you can pretty much walk barefeet anywhere in the park and not step on a thing; all the rides and attractions are on par with the gate price; the childrens play area is updated; the rock climbing wall is free; the life guards are on the ball (I was 2 people "rescued" while I was there); the lazy river was awesome (you can get on and off in many different spots); the wave pool was very large; and the pool with the loungers and DJ was like a mini vacation. The walk from the parking to the water was VERY short compared to other places. My only issues were there were many locations to buy food however only a few opened and the line-ups were astronomical. If you bring your own food (leave it in the car) and leave the park to eat you have to pay a fee to use the picnic tables. The park charges you for everything it possibly can so be prepared.Overall if you are expecting Spash Works then go to Spash Works; if you want a good time for a reasonable price come here and ENJOY !!
Our family including three children 8 and under, attended on Thursday August 21 with a group of families with a child diagnosed with autism. The price was more reasonable than the gate price, so that may influence my views. I felt the park was wonderful for families. Staff were friendly, attentive to safety and enforced rules. There was. Ore than enough to do for the day. Children particularly loved the lazy river and the wave pool which gave adults a chance to relax a bit too. The mini gold was a fun, not busy change of pace. The place is not meticulously kept. But mostly just surface paint job is needed. I did not see any safety issues. And quite frankly the kids don't notice how polished it looks. I loved how close together everything was so that we didn't have to do a lot of walking. Also washrooms were everywhere we turned it seemed. The park was not too busy and we did not have to wait for tubes as other reviewers describe from busier days. Perhaps avoiding the weekend makes a great deal of difference. Walk to parking lot was not far so we left to eat at picnic tables, not spending money in the park as reviewers have claimed makes the day far more costly. I was pleased with the day and we spent 5 hours there.
The water park is very worn down. Many of the rides seem as if they have not been updated since the 90's.For the entry price, the attractions they offer are very mediocre. You can easily ride most of rides in under two hours. Also I find that they do not provide enough tubes (for those who do not want to rent them), you may have to wait about 5 minutes to get one. I have been to many water parks, where there were a sufficient amount of tubes to supply the customers. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone. I would suggest that people take their money elsewhere.
Seems like this park saw its best years in the 1990's. My husband got passes via work charity auction so we went, but otherwise we would not have chosen to go. My 5 and 7 year old enjoyed it, but overall the park is looking very worn. We will not be returning.
Seriously I have been in Costa Rica and El Salvador and their water parks are spanking new and vibrant, entrance is the equivalent of $3 and people bring their own food and drink but they also sell an entire array of food variety inside, and unlike Wild Water Kingdom that will sell you bland hot dogs and stiff pizza slices these 3rd-world water parks sell seafood, shawarnas and mexican food just like you would find at a Texas mexican restaurant.I went with my wife and 3 kids to WWK, the entrance was like $175. Kids don't get a discount and pay like adults, unless they are babies which at that point they won't enjoy the pools would they? They boinked me with a hefty car parking fee, higher than even the parking fee at any famous icon of Toronto. Really? You charge me huge $$$ to park my car in what is just a gravel football field with no security or fences? Then you dinged me at the entrance?I have nothing good to say about this place, the inner tubes are rented and they will make you take your own Wal-mart inner tube to your car, this after milking me $175 plus a huge parking fee, oh and you cannot bring your own food either and they strictly enforce it. The entire park is decrepit, old and dirty. The water in the pools look yellow not blue. I was dismayed at the sparse selection of slides and did not see at least one good olympic-sized pool deep enough for my tastes. The chairs and tables are sparsed and you have to rent them too. There is NOTHING in this place that is free for the customers, nothing. There is no courtesy at all, no reprieve. Do NOT waste your money in this dump, go to a public swimming pool or to Wasaga Beach and you will save money and have more unrestricted fun.
