The paved road now goes here and I couldn't be happier for the owner and Monica. Until two years ago it was at the end of a very bumpy sand and dirt road that people didn't want to drive over. You could go there for two hours and not see a single person other than Monica. You still don't see a lot of people, but it's nice to see that maybe a little money is being made. The beach is beautiful here. There's a nice, colorful covered pavilion with tables. There are two small bathrooms with real toilets with some new primitively sweet decor. The best news is that they have a menu with real lunch type food and reasonable prices. They might forget to tell you that the prices are actually a little higher than the antique menus show, but still reasonable. Monica is a good cook, a great drink maker, and a very nice person if you are nice to her. You will feel welcome here if you are friendly. If you are demanding and haughty you might as well forget it. Of course, that's true of most people and places in Anegada. The people are friendly, but they aren't going to fall over themselves to make you feel wanted if you can't be nice to them. So, definitely go here for snorkeling, drinking, sunning, and lunch.
Flash of Beauty is a great bar and restaurant. We have to go to Flash at least once a week to have lunch. Monica and Sharo make the best roti on the island. You also have to have their fried conch - it is amazing.
We were looking forward to seeing Flash of Beauty - the beach and the bar - but unfortunately the swells were too high to snorkel and the bar was closed (visited Monday around 3pm). So we stayed 10 minutes or so and moved on. On a calm day, I'm sure it's fabulous.
The outer reef comes relatively close in here, so that you can get into the deeper water fairly rapidly. The closer out you get through the breakers, the better the snorkeling. We saw all sorts of corals, sea fans, fish, sharks, rays, etc.
The people who own and work this place make it a pleasure to visit. Not a wide selection of drinks, but the beach is also pretty.
Stunning pink sand, gorgeous swimming spot, miles of walking. Paradise, even some beach seating to relax and enjoy the view.
Be here. You can enjoy seamless white-sand beach without crowd. When I get here around 10am, I could not see more than 5 people. During a whole day, I could not see more than 30 people on continuous white beach. This white sand beach is genuine. If I scoop sand, there are not dark particles in it. Just white and a little bit pink, These particles creates true white sand beach.Flash of Beauty is also amazing for snorkeling. The structure of bottom was so complicated and attracted me for a couple of days. I could see sting rays and weird lobsters. I also could see some ropes that might be from wrecked ship.
We came to this island on a catamaran. It was well worth the day of travel. The ocean was like glass and the snorkeling was great. This is the only flat island in the B.V.I. Very beautiful
We swam and snorkeled at Flash of Beauty but there was a lot of wind and the water was pretty rough so it was tough to see much if the water and sometimes we were just swimming in place! The beach is beautiful and I suspect snorkeling would be great on a calmer day
So beautiful - the day we came here we were the only people on the beach. The waves and current were way too strong to snorkel, but there had recently been a ocean storm and I understand that normally the snorkeling is fantastic. No matter, the beach is so pristine, the sky so blue, the water so turquoise - I dream of this place. Cannot wait to go back.
O.k. This was bar none, the BEST snorkeling I've seen in the Caribbean. The Many swim thru caves that are there are Great and teaming with tons of big fish. Can't wait to come back.
We had lunch at Flash of Beauty after renting a car and driving to Loblolly Bay. Lunch was fine, but then everything tastes good after you've been snorkeling and swimming for a couple of hours. The lady who was running the restaurant was very nice and friendly. She told us a lot about the island and the people onit. (Didn't know most folks on Anegada are from other Caribbean islands and come to work for a variable period. She was fromTrinidad and had been on Anegada for 6 years). About the title of this review: when we parked, we noticed the only other car there had plastic shopping bags tied over the side view mirrors. While eating, we noticed this small brightly colored yellow bird flitting around our driver's side mirror, clearly admiring getting off on it's own reflection. This went on the whole time we were there, leaving quite the coating of guano on the mirror and side of the car. The restaurant lady said it had first shown up a couple of weeks earlier and was a daily visitor And after a few days of having to clean her mirrors, she came up with the shopping bag idea.
just got home after 2 weeks sailing in bvione of many wonderfull highlights was a guided tour of this incredable island, seek out Kelly he offers tours plus fishing snorkling trips, great guy
Stop by for lunch or call for a dinner reservation and enjoy the wonderful food and service Monica offers! The chicken curry is simply amazing. The restaurant also serves beer and other cold drinks if that's all you are looking for. The restaurant is just a few feet from one of the best beaches and snorkeling locations (Loblolly). Come and enjoy!
The beach is stunning as well as the Painkillers at the little bar and restaurant. We could not see other people for miles in either direction. It's a definite "must do" when going to Anegeda. The pickup we rented with bench seats in the back that was a hoot and fit all 10 of us.
