The Marie L. is one of four wrecks (soon to be five) all sunk in close proximity to each other for the benefit of scuba divers in what is known as "wreck alley". Sunk just off Cooper Island, they are often dived as a two tank dive, with a stop for lunch at Cooper Island Beach Club in between. The Mary L. is immediately next to the Pat, and about 30 yards away is the Beata. A new wreck is planned to be sunk next to the Beata during the summer of 2009. A few hundred yards away is the Inganess Bay. The wrecks are all in about 90 feet of water, but the nearby reef ascends to about 30 feet in a wall, and so the dives are normally done as a multi level dive. The wrecks are in a sheltered site, so there is rarely a problem with currents or visibility. The area has a large number of stingrays and turtle, and the wrecks also host lobster and moray eels.Wreck Alley is a pleasant addition to other popular BVI wreck dives, like the RMS Rhone and the Chikuzen.
