维京群岛最负盛名的海湾,有一条浮潜的trail,但我觉得名过其实,首先海底生物并不丰富,潜出很远也就见到一些小鱼,其次租伞洗浴等服务只是基本水平,远谈不上最好,好在有救生员

If your looking for a perfect beach, the this is the spot! The best time of the day to go is after 4:30pm so that there will be less of a crowd.

Trunk bay is a very beautiful U.S. National Park beach ($4/pp admission) located a short distance ($10 cab ride) from Cruz bay. It was cloudy and rainy when we arrived, but cleared up in the afternoon. There's a couple of lifeguards on duty watching all of the amateur snorkelers that have killed the coral reef around the little nearby island. The bathrooms, showers and snack shop are very nice, but can get crowded.

Beautiful beach & water. Good, basic adjacent amenities for snorkeling, snacks, etc. Underwater snorkeling trail was fun, interesting & doable for most ages. Suggestion to visit on days when no cruise ships are in at St. Thomas was probably wise, as we did & found it not overcrowded.

A beautiful beach and when you get perfect weather it's hard to beat. Water is coastal clear and calm for novice swimmers. Three cruise ships in town didn't over run the area, rentals, snack bar, and changing area. The plumbing in the shower area could use some attention. The fee is nominal and remember it's a national park and the fees go to help maintain the beautiful area. Leave time to check out mongoose junction for ice cream, beer or both after a long day in the sun.

This was my kids favorite because of the snorkeling. Check to see how many cruise ships are in before you go. If more than one, don't go. They have a snack bar and facilities but a super crowded beach. Especially if you want some shade.

My wife, two sons (9 yrs., 7 yrs), and I arrived at 9:00am and the parking lot was blissfully uncrowded. After paying the $4 per adult admission fee (which helps to maintain the park and pay for the lifeguards), we ventured to the beach. It is truly a beautiful setting and well worth an early morning picture or stroll. Only a few other people were there in the early morning and the atmosphere was peaceful. The snorkeling trail was OK, but the marine life was disappointing compared to other beaches on St. John. Despite the neat underwater trail, the highlight of visiting Trunk Bay is the beauty of the beach itself. The snack bar, gift shop, foot washing station, and flush toilets were all pluses. However, two things were blemishes on our visit. First, I had an unpleasant experience with renting a child life vest. At the rental shop, the lady working at the rental counter seemed to be in a bitter mood. It may be frustrating to serve hordes of people, but hey, it's your job. When my wife pointed out that one of the child life vests was defective (it started to deflate in the middle of snorkeling), the lady shrugged and said "OK". I had a sinking feeling that she was going to reuse the defective child vest despite the safety violation. In any case, the cost of the child life vest rental was $5.00 (be sure to check for defects).Second, day-trippers from the 4 cruise ships docked in St. Thomas began to converge on Trunk Bay at 10:00am. The atmosphere had transformed from "peaceful solitude" to "New Jersey Shore" within 30 minutes. If you're staying on St. John's and want to experience the splendor of Trunk Bay in peace, I recommend you arrive by 8:45am, take your photos, snorkel quickly, and get the heck out of there by 10:15am. I was glad we departed by 10:30am as the parking lot was starting to burst with hordes of visitors in a traffic jam of buses and taxis. I have no qualms with cruise day-trippers, whose $4 admission fees help to subsidize the operating costs of the NPS on St. Johns. If you're on a cruise and thinking of one excursion on St. John's - this is probably the one for you. That said, if you're looking for a great snorkeling experience or peaceful beach after 10:30am, keep on driving and look elsewhere on the north shore!

Trunk Bay Park is on St. John Island. St. John is just a short water taxi ride from St. Thomas Island. It is a beautiful place! The water is so blue and the sand is white and really beautiful!! There are beach chairs to rent there and also any snorkeling equipment you would like. There is a little snack stand also. Around the small island just off of the beach, there is an underwater tour that you can take. You can snorkel out and then go down to see the plaques that are under the water telling you about the things you can see in the water. It is a neat experience if you have never done it before. I highly recommend it!! If you don't want to snorkel, the beach is an awesome place to rest & relax in a beautiful place! It is also very picturesque!! They also rent beach wheelchairs, for anyone that wants one. It has huge tires on it and someone will need to push the person in the chair. A wonderful place that I highly recommend!! Been there twice and will be going next year also.

Used the cruise ships transportation to get from St. Thomas to St Johns. Taxi to Trunk Bay for $6.00 each way and park entrance was $4.00 pp. Beautiful sandy cove where we snorkeled the underwater trail. Beach was soft white sand with lots of shade and beautiful views.

If you are docking/arriving in St. Thomas and are contemplating a beach day, pick this place. Often voted one of the top 10 beaches in the world, this beach lives up to the hype and expectations. It is remote enough to be gloriously unspoiled, but easy enough to reach for a day excursion. There are life guards as well, which can be a relief for parents. Check out the easy snorkeling opportunity at the reef near the shore. There is food available at a food shack (tasty, and served efficiently), but it is expensive. There are bathrooms and showering areas as well so being comfortable is not a problem.

We arrived in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas on a cruise ship in March 2015. Taking an excursion purchased on board, we boarded a smaller boat for the 40 minute ride to nearby St. John's island, where transportation was waiting to take us to Trunk Bay inside the National Park.We had been here before (2005) but it was well worth another look. Snorkeling equipment is available for rent (ours came with the tour package) and there is an underwater "trail" marked out on the floor of Trunk Bay. Signs explain some of the different types of corals and fish you may see. It was beautiful -- but, to be honest, so many people were there it was probably reducing the number of fish. I suspect other snorkel trips in nearby locations may have resulted in other spectacular views, as well, but this trip is a natural for novice or beginners at snorkeling.Even if you don't care to peer under the surface of the water, the beach is lovely and worth some time for dip or a little sunning. Please bring your sunscreen!

Went back in 2001 and can vividly remember the profound beauty of this beach. At the time it was being called one of or the most beautiful beach in the world and I can admit I have not yet seen better. The sands are insanely gorgeous white soft tiny grains and the sea is brilliant turquoise with loads of gorgeous fish. My life is better from having been to this beach. ;)

You simply can't beat the snorkeling here. There is an underwater trail to follow, and the sights and the sea life will take your breath away. It gets crowded because it is so popular, so get there early. Parking, as at all St. John beaches, is limited. You can rent gear or bring your own.

This was our first visit to the Island of St. Johns. We wanted to go snorkeling so we took an excursion off our cruise ship. The island is beautiful and the beaches are beautiful. The surf was up a little the day we were there so the snorkeling was just average. We didn't get to see as many fish as we had hoped. We would like to go back and see more of the island. Very beautiful.

Awesome beach. Be sure to snap a photo of it from the road on the way in. Great snorkeling, calm water, lots of fish and maybe a stingray or two!
