Volkyland has a huge number of cars, from the 40s to now and they're beautifully restored and maintained. As the last reviewer said, there are tours, but the guide spoke little English (and unfortunately our Spanish is pretty limited). We were lucky that the owner who spoke perfect English came and talked to us about the museum. For example, he said he started the collection in 1968 and that Walt Disney productions wants to bring the museum to Florida. That would be a shame because the location is very cool.
The Volkyland had a lot of great cars, but it was only open on Sundays. They give tours which was not informative for us because they did not speak English. The cars are in beautiful shape and the location had some other vehicles besides VWs , for example, Porsches. The cost was $10.00 per person.
I visit this museum on Labor Day weekend. As every person mentioned, it's great and super interesting. VW's on every shape, color and size. I enjoy principally the amphibious model with a machine gun included. Also an ambulance !!! Incredible. The guide was very helpful and attentive and the place is full of colors and spacious.But..., the reason I gave only a 3 on the evalution scale, it's the extreme heat on the room. No air conditioned. The inside temperature was very high and the ventilation it's very poor. Two of my relatives needs to move to the air conditioned entrance hall before the tour completion. This situation do not allow you to enjoy the exhibition to the maximum.Take note, the tours are at certain hours and it's possible you will need to wait for a while.
Very interesting place to go. A private collection of Volkswagen. If you like Volkswagen this place is the place to be. They have a lots of old Volkswagen. Different colors, years, shapes and history. The tour guide was very nice and patience with the people. We went on July 2013 and it was open only on Sundays.
The collection is very beautiful, well organized. If you are a Vw fan you should go. They have over 200 cars, very mice staff. Direction is easy and near to Yauco mall.
First let me correct the web site that TripAdvisor lists above. That is wrong, it should be http://thevolkyland.com/. I read about this in Que Pasa, the tourist magazine you get in PR and also in La Perla, a newspaper from the Ponce area. It is incredible. There are over 200 cars, from the forties up to the last Beetle off the assembly line in Mexico. There is the Herbie Beetle, German military models, including amphibious, all types, special purpose VW's of all kinds, and a few Porsches and other cars. This is all presented in a large building decorated to look like a typical Puerto Rican town. There are memorabilia also. For $10 we got a guided tour explaining about the collection and with detailed information about many of the cars. If you are any kind of VW fan, this is not to be missed. It is an incredible collection.
