Spent the whole day at the beach earlier this week and had a great experience. Returned again yesterday for a short tan, approximately 1 hour. Parking near campground was full so security guard directed us to park up in overflow parking a short walk away. He did not warn us that crime in the area was very common. We returned to our car after an hour at the beach to find our car window broken and all valuables inside stolen. these valuables were hidden under the seat and in the dashboard but this did not deter the thieves. Beware, park at your own risk, do not let theives ruin your vacation like they have ruined ours.
Ideal for expending the day with friend and family. This is not one of those places you want to be buy yourself. Problem with the parking area.
Hello, went yesterday for practice swimming. Park our car in front where abandoned small building is. Done swimming for about an hour and passing by a car park in the middle sand area window smashed. Poor couple with kids. Nothing safe!! Rush check our car window smashed too. Back trunk of our car valuable things stolen. And..didn't notice other car park in the very front window smashed. Imagine 3 cars!! Parking entrance was free.
So I grew up in this beach and used to go a lot when I was little and I can't say I liked it very much. There used to be trash everywhere. But that was then back in the days couple years ago, now it's a gorgeous beach with Crystal Clearwater and they charge you in the main entrance three dollars which is worth it because they clean the beach every day now making it a great place for family, friends and couples. In the more deeper side The snorkeling is out of this world and for a small beach there is a lot of marine life. You can find from seahorses to Moray eels, lionfish -don't touch those they're poisonous, fire worms- which are also poisonous and all sorts and kinds of fishes. So if your staying near or passing by "Hatillo" you most definitely have to stop at this Beach. If you would like to see pictures and videos of this beach follow me on Instagram @yuyimufu
i was just there 3 days ago. didn't pay anything. parked on the side of the hotel where there was some trees providing great shade. walk to beach was about 3 minutes. I loved it, the water was so clear and warm.
This beaches water is crystal clear, the sand is nice and light and there is plenty of fish, eels, crabs and other waterlife types. The entrance is $2.00 or $3.00 dollars. I don't remember cause I walk there. Just take some swim gear and enjoy the swim.
I have been going to Hatillo, PR for 20 years and just found this beach. Great protected lagoon type beach with clean sand and water only about 4-5 feet deep at its deepest there. Was a great find and will be going back there on each trip back to PR
Great beach because of the "pool" formed by the reef! makes great photo ops too when the waves hit the rocks!
Water was clean, no big waves, good for kids. Rocks upon entering and beach is desolate during weekdays - little scary if you're alone.
If been going to the beach since I was a kid (about 35 years). It use to be free, then it was a dollar, and now it's $3. Not sure what the heck the do with the money.Anyway. The rocks creating a nature pool so you can enjoy the beach without fear by being swept away by under currents. This is good place snorkel and to climb/explorer the rocks.
Beautiful beach, the rocks around the ocean form a safe area for kids to swim (the rocks don't let you get to the ocean) the sunset is just amazing.
I wasn't heading for the beach, it just happened to be an accidental stop. I got lost and ended up there. The kiosks caught my attention and I decided to stop as it looked like a friendly place and I was thirsty for a light beer. After looking at the things for a sale at the kiosks we ventured into the "placita", which is sorrounded by eateries, to pick one. After looking around, we chose "El Anzuelo"; I had the best burger ever. I will go back again, this time intentioanally.
Relatively clean, you have to bring your own chairs or sit in the sand.
