thunderball grotto

Okay, I didn't go in the water, but my husband did, and we've snorkeled in a lot of places, and he said this was THE BEST snorkeling he's ever seen. It's like a coral cave - be careful not to pop your head up too fast in some areas or you could cut your head (we saw this happen). My husband followed a local through a cave tube and popped out right by our boat. Then he went right back in for more. We went with 4C's - great trip, highly recommended and so glad we went!

So easy to get to from Staniel Cay, so easy to swim in, we are not strong swimmers at all and had no trouble with snorkeling through. only regret is our underwater camera didn't work, make sure you bring one!

very easy to access - even if you are not a strong swimmer. You can access it at low tide without having to dive under. Bring a mask and snorkle/fins - stunningly tropical fish once inside.

Please don't touch the coral. It takes three million years to grow a reef. I am afraid to review this place, because it is so cool, everyone will want to go there.

We went on an all day boat trip with a side stop here. Although I swim as well as a rock I went into the grotto (with a life jacket on) and was amazed at what I saw.You would not think this place from the outside had such a beautiful inside.

Go at slack tide and bring your fins - great snorkeling. Awesome natural formation in a beautiful place.

It was so neat to see all of the fish swarm around you. Bring bread and they will come right up to you. A must if you are nearby.

Stopped there several times during our stay at Staniel, amazing scenery. Bring a bag of bread to feed the fish, they will surround you like crazy.

we brought bread in a zip lock to feed the fish, had a blast. Amazing in the grotto, a must see. We went a second time we liked it so much.

Taking the time to snorkel the grotto is a must do attraction. I have been diving and snorkeling at many beautiful destinations and this is one of my favorites. The landscape and views are amazing.

I've never seen so many fish underwater. It was not easy to find but the tour boat pointed out the entrance and it was easy after that. Lot's of limestone caves in the Bahamas.

If you are anywhere near Staniel Cay you have to go to Thunderball Grotto. We had our own boat and were able to anchor just outside the entrance. You have to go at low tide in order to find your way in. The coral and fish were all amazing and the natural light that filters through the grotto is breathtaking. I could have stayed all day! Some brave people can climb up on the outside of the cave and jump in through a narrow passage way into the grotto. This would be my first place to go back!

This is one of the most amazing places to snorkel. Just make sure you go at low tide....so much fun :)

Me and my friends went and we wanted to go again it was awesome a good experience of a lifetime. I could not belive the amazing coral reef in the cave and around it.
