tropical adventures - island safari

We had a fantastic time in Antigua for 10days. We decided to do the 4x4 trip around the island, we had snorkelling, kayaking, off roading & plenty of rum punch! Our tour guide for the day was Travis & he was great, we asked for loud music so he played it.. What an amazing trip, I'd thouroughly recommend it. And to top it all my boyfriend of 3years proposed to me I'll always remember Antigua, & if we return I'd definately book the trip out around the island again... Travis is the man..well done

Enjoyed the trip thoroughly, our driver Travis was very friendly & imformative about different places around the Island. Glad to see so many Donkeys getting rescued & looked after. Amazing & would reccomend to everyone.

We booked this tour on board our cruise ship prior to arrival. Overall, it is a good value and you do get to see the villages about the interior of the island of Antigua. Our driver was knowledgeable and friendly, even stopping once to retrieve a passenger's hat which blew out of the vehicle.Passengers ride in the open back of a Land Rover sitting facing each other, ten to a side. The seats are acceptable and there are seat belts. Leaving the port area of St. John's we took a quick trip through the city, uphill and into the interior. Each guest was provided a map at the start. When the small road ran out, we went off roading first on dirt tracks and for one point (less than 1/4 mile) over very rough terrain. The driver explained local history and horticulture all along the way.Leaving the off-road part we regained an interior road and worked our way downhill to the far side of the island. There was a stop an an overlook for all the vehicles in the caravan and complimentary rum punch was served. Later, we stopped at a resort beach and had an hour long swim.On the return trip the route was along the coast so we also saw about one third of the island's coastline on the way back. All in all, it was a good trip, good value, and I would recommend this to anyone with a limited time ashore. It's a good way to get a taste of life throughout the island, not just in the city.

We had a great tour of Antigua. We visited the Donkey sanctuary, sugar cane farm, the boat dock and so much more. The guide was great, friendly and knowledgable. We learned a lot about the history of Antigua. We defenately recommend.

We stayed at the Coconut Beach Club during January 2015. We booked the Virgin Dundee Safari. Our guide for the day was the highly knowledgeable and very friendly Randolph. The 4x4 trip was exciting, Nelson Dockyard stunning, lunch needed more attention. From then on we visited the mangrove swamps, "Hercules" & Scooby were the fantastic guides who took us on kayaks, skiffs where snorkelled and discovered sea life, from there we went out to the edge of the reef to see the stingrays.Brilliant day and exceptional value...well done to everyone involved.

We were on a cruise ship and stopped in St. John's Antigua for the day. Booked a tour with Island Safari for a Tropical Tour not really knowing what to expect. It was a nice way to see a piece of Antigua travel long in a jeep like truck traveling through a jungle area, driving along the coastline and having some great beach time. The beach was beautiful with great sand and really nice water!Swimming was excellent! The driver was awesome answering all our questions, provided a good commentary along the way. The rum drink was enjoyable too even making a special brew for our jeep! We saw some different type of apples along the road on the way back to the ship and the driver stopped and bought us a couple, split the open and we shared a new taste of Apple, the Sugar Apple. I would recommend this tour!

Had 2 tours with them- land & sea, half off-roading (lots of bouncing around in the back of the 4x4) & half catamaran trip & the Island safari & stingray fantasy, half island tour & half Stringray City experience. Both were well organised, well run & very interesting. John & Davy were our guides, both very informative about the island history, nature & day to day life. Both included lunch- BBQ aboard the catamaran, picnic on the stingray tour. Pick up & drop off included so no extra taxi fares. Easy to book. Really consider this company to find out about Antigua- whilst having lots of fun!

That hill you went on overlooking Falmouth harbour, that hill is called Convent Hill. It really is a beautiful view when you reach up there.
