Visited this beach in 1992, my third and last trip to the Dominican Republic. There is a river flowing into sea. Nice view

This beach is a beautiful beach in the Dominican Republic. The problem with it is the lack of regulations for beaches in DR. You will definitely enjoy the water and the warm of the people

We drove from Playa Najajo to Playa de Palenque on Saturday early afternoon after spending the evening at the Playa Najajo Beach Resort. We drove the length of Playa Palenque and back, then we settled in on a beach parking space adjacent to a bar / restaurant feet from the sand about 2/3 the way back down the beach. But you'll find that anywhere along the beach is fine. Playa Palenque is about a mile long, cabana style seating on the beach, steps from the water. Very good Dominican food with ice cold cerveza's at Dominican prices. . . We had 2 creole style freshly caught fish, 2 servings of arroz and habichuelas, and 4 or 5 large ice cold Presidente's . . all for about 450 pesos. . . Absolutely delicious . . . Laid back beach, lazy rolling 2 foot waves, soft sand, and the shade of your cabana and beach chair. . . Mostly families enjoying a day at beautiful beach with cold beer's and great food. . .

About 1.5 hours from Santo Domingo airport. No tourist only locals at beach. Not a resort destination bit if you like remote places with basic amenities its great. The beachis beautiful. Must speak Spanish. Almost no English spoken here.

A esta playa voy desde que era pequeño pues mi papa es de ese pueblo, la playa tiene como una milla de longitud, la arena un poco atipica porque es de color gris oscuro y no blanca como casi todas las playas dominicanas, se come buen pescado y moro de gandules en los kioskos de cana que estan a lo largo de la playa, hacia el oeste está cocolandia una playa bajita y muy bonita, nunca antes habia visto tanta concentracion de arboles de almendra como en esta playa, palenque esta un poco retirado de la capital por eso para visitarl hay que dedicar buena parte del dia.
