This is a very nice area! The beach is gorgeous and there is a very nice, tame hike. I highly recommend an afternoon hike and enjoying the sunset from the top of the hill.

"El Morro" is in Monte Cristi town. A town in the northwest of the country. This is a quiet, peaceful, simple and humble town.It has some good restaurant and hotel too.The beach of the Morro is a beautiful place that I recommended for everybody. This place has the most spectacular view that I had never seen in my life. I thought that I had seen beautiful beaches, but when I was in this pretty and stunning beach, I knew I was wrong.It is a true paradise in the earth, and I feel very happy that paradise is in my country, Dominican Republic.I crazy look forward to going back.

Looks like it could be off a postcard. Before heading down the hill to the beach, it's worth it to take a little hike up the path to the left to get a view of the beach and Monte Cristi from above. If you're looking for lots of sunshine, best time to go is in the morning, but beware- there is little shade at that time. Waves can be very high at times- great for body surfing but not for the non-swimmers. A beautiful beach to walk, sandy but with some lovely colorful stones on the periphery- might find yourself a souvenir!

Got a great tour to El Morro with Soroya y Santo Tours. They know the history. Rest of the tour was fun as well.

Well it is only for the views nowadays. El Morro used to have a great red-sanded beach.. now is only rocks thanks to Climate change and the rising of the sea level.. But the view is spectacular.

The view is great, the waves are really strong compared to other beaches in the Country. Must wear sneakers because to go down to the beach the littler road has a lot of rocks. Amazing pictures can be taken from any point and they do really Great tours around the mangroves, siete callos hermanos y, and the natural pool... There is also a really cool monument that was just made in front of the beach, must take a picture at the big clock, and don't forget "el muelle", las salinas oh and we also ate at a really good restaurant which is also a hotel. This place is great for fishing and tanning and of course to have a great vacation... Loved it. Buy water, tanning lotion, and Mosquitos repellent and you will love this place.

Well worth the hike! It is an unforgettable experience worth the view. The beach is also nice for swimming but the waves can be a bit rough.

If you have unreasonable expectations... you will be disappointed. If you are looking for an off the beaten path absolutely beautiful view - you have found it.

If you love unspoiled vistas, then this is the place for you! The hike up can be a challenge if you are not wearing the proper footwear but the view from above is totally worth it! Breathtaking and priceless. We watched the sun set and were thankful to be in such a peaceful setting! Loved it!

Very rocky climb, wear your good closed toe hiking/walking shoes. The crosses that we climbed for in the past have since fallen due to the high content of salt in the air. Views are amazing, as is the beach at the foot of the mountain.

This point of the country is truly beautiful and undeveloped. If you're looking for an escape from everything, this is the place to go. Stop at one of the local restaurants and have some locally-caught seafood to get you ready for the strong waves of El Morro. The red sand is visually-stunning and surprising to anyone who hasn't seen this kind of sand before. A definite must go!

Arrivando in auto, vediamo questa montagna che, dalla forma, ricorda un cammello.Ci avviciniamo e si entra in un'area protetta.Bello, certamente, ma un pò lasciato a se stesso.Essendo Montecristi una città dove non c'è veramente nulla, le poche cose interessanti andrebbero curate.

Un lugar muy bonito para descansar la vista, el paisaje es muy hermoso, la playa es limpia.. Es Un lugar perfecto para fotografías.... Lo recomiendo!!!!

Sehr schöner ruhiger Ort. Ein Aufstieg auf den El Morro lohnt sich wegen der Aussicht auf jeden Fall. Der Strand ist auch sehr schön aber aufgrund der Wellen nur bedingt zum schwimmen geeignet.

Excelente paisaje natural del área! Además tiene una playa muy linda y segura. Eso sí, no hay nada allá, así que de querer comer o beber hay que llevarse todo.
