We visited the gardens amidst a slight tropical shower and it made the gardens feel even more romantic and isolated. The grounds are truly beautiful and it is very easy to navigate. We did not go to the restaurant, however, it looked like a great setting in the middle of the gardens. This place is lovely, well worth a visit. My only complaint is that it would be nice if there was a little more info provided regarding the family that runs the gardens and the plants themselves.
Very nice, small, some really pretty areas, but there are no butterflies. All the advertising I had come across said that they were butterflies and parrots. There were parrots in smallish cages but no butterflies. Allot of hype but not else. Tropical fruit garden was just a few trees, water features were nice.
We went to see the gardens and ended up going into the house as well. The restaurant is Thai and is on the upper floor so you have a super view of Charlestown and sea below. The gardens were unexpectedly really really good.... and our lunch was too. I believe they also do dinner. Great fresh juices / smoothies - yum!
On a day trip to Nevis from St Kitts my wife and I visited these wonderful gardens in January. They are superb and should definitely be included in the tour of this perfect caribean island. These gardens are family run and are really a perfect example of botanical gardens growing in the wonderful climate of Nevis.Everyone there working there was extremely welcoming. The Thai inspired cafe was perfect.Altogether a thouroughly enjoyable hour or so.
It feels that the entire tropics are somehow contained within these walls. Serene, tranquil, and abounding with colour. Great thai food and colourful drinks (if a little on the sweet side), the team are attentive and very welcoming indeed.
A beautiful, tranquil setting with ocean view of the St Kitts in the distance. The entrance fee was reasonable and staff friendly. There are no 'official' guides so you are on your own to walk the grounds. The gift shop has a variety of Nevisian artistry. We returned later in the week for dinner at the Thai Restaurant on property. It was a lovely evening; service staff delightful; food above average; reasonable priced. A visit to the Botanical Gardens is a 'must do' when visiting Nevis.
It was a lovely experience. Unfortunately, there are no guides to help you with identifying the foliage, but it was wonderful nonetheless. It was a very peaceful and relaxing stroll though the estate with my friends. There is a tree in which guests are asked to sign their names (with any sharp object) onto the leaves. Due to the properties in these leaves, your "signature" will stay on the tree leaf for a few years (assuming no one plucks it off). I wrote my name and the date that I was there. Hopefully I can find it among the hundred names already there in a few years. The restaurant at the Gardens was phenomenal. The wait staff was extraordinarily friendly, helpful, and a delight to be around. The mixed drinks were very tasty... I had a few too many!Overall... great experience in Nevis.Enjoy.
Loved the people and the cleanliness of the island Humpy or cab driver is a must. Very knowledgeable about the island
I wanted to visit the Gardens specifically to purchase some honey to bring home. We visited mid morning which was perfect as it was not too hot yet. I bought 5 bottles and they were kind enough to bubble wrap them for travel. The grounds are amazing! I posted them to my FB account and my friends were in awe. We unfortunately had just finished breakfast and never made it back for lunch or dinner. Who knew there were so many kinds of Palm trees?, not me.
The Botanical Gardens were a high point of my recent trip to Nevis. The grounds are beautiful and very well-maintained. There is a tremendous variety of orchids and other varieties of flowers and trees. The guide who took us on a tour was very knowledgeable and told us a great deal about the island’s flora. If you are visiting Nevis, you definitely should visit this attraction.
what a cool Botanic Garden! Took cab to get there and combined it with other sights. Cabby ran some errants and came back after an hour. Should have planned much longer stay . Beautiful tropical plants, some fountains and Asian and South Pacific Sculptures. Didn't have time to try the on-site Thai Restaurant but was told that it is very good. Loved Nevis overall.
As the guide drives you in you are first impressed by the shiny stainless steel gates. Then the various south asian statues found throughout out the well laid out gardens. A paradise of tranquility and karma. The gift shop has items from all over the world to purchase. Plan to spend 45 minutes here.
Spent a couple of lovely hours in these gardens so beautful & peaceful enjoyed iced coffee in the the thai restaurant there.
We visited the gardens out of season and it appeared that we were the only guests that morning. This is a real shame as the gardens are well developed and the various statues make the garden unique and ideal for photography. After a tour of the garden we enjoyed a mint tea and Thai lemonade looking over the gardens and wondering why more people weren't enjoy this oasis.
My boyfriend and I had such a lovely time walking through the gardens. Great photo opportunities too. We felt it was well worth the money to see. Very peaceful place and relaxing. Recommend!
