I spent a day at Midway beach last week with my wifes family. There are several 'resorts' (i use the term loosely) that offer use of their beach and hire out bungalows by the beach for small fees, i cant remember the name of the one we used i think it was san ysidro or something. We paidd a 10 peso per head entry fee, and then paid 1500 for the use of their two huts (this place is exclusive supposedly) for 27 of us. The beach is quite nice compared to most beaches in the area, it is white sand not brown mud, however the water is full of coral and very shallow so it is ok for wqading but not so good for swimming. The resort next to ours sold coals, drinks and ice, we had brought all our own food to cook ourselves at the bbq's provided. Overall, it was a nice place to spend the day with the family, nothing too special but not bad either, not many people to hassle u and a nice place to relax with friends and family

This place is priced for locals, not visiting tourists, so with that in mind, this is a great place. It costs a few pesos to get in, then I think it's P500 to rent one of the beach huts for the day. The huts are nice. For some reason, we haven't had much problems with fire ants here. Most every beach we have been to has fire ants all over the huts (they are there because of the frequency of food dropped in the sand). There are some but less than any other I've been to. There are some simple cottages where you can spend the night. I've never been inside them but I heard from a friend they were adequate (not nice, not great, not horrible, just adequate).I particularly like that there are large trees reaching out over the beach which come close enough to the water that you can sit in the shade and still feel like you are out on the beach. The trees don't go right up to the water so even at high tide there is still plenty of sunny sand to choose as well. They do have bathrooms and at least one public faucet (not drinkable, obviously), though again, it's for locals so expect that level of quality. The beach is very nice and it's a beautiful area. Usually the waves are very small (as is most everywhere in Mindanao), but the water is rarely totally still (this is a plus for me, totally still water at a beach is boring). The sand quality at the beach is good, not sugar sand or anything, but it's comfortable. I still recommend wearing water shoes in the water (I think I'd recommend that at any beach in the Philippines). Mostly you will step on broken coral pieces, though there are at least a few pieces of glass to be found. I was happy to discover that despite everyone telling me otherwise, there are some things to see if you go snorkeling (probably even more if you were to go diving, since you can go even deeper). You can walk out quite a way before it's over your head. For this reason, if you want to find things while snorkeling, you need to go out past where people can walk at low tide. That's about 75-100 yards out, at a depth starting at about 10 feet and going to about 30 feet before it drops off. Once you get out there, it isn't spectacular but certainly worth using your equipment if you have it, especially if you are comfortable diving down to see things. Don't make a trip here for the snorkeling, but consider it an added bonus to a day at the beach. I took my 5 year old out with me who had been snorkeling with all the gear exactly once before, and she had a blast. All in all, I enjoy this place and I'm happy to have this more convenient (for me) place to visit that's closer than more popular and touristy areas like Camiguin Island. One last thing, I definitely think this is a better choice that Midway Beach which is right next door (though mostly out of sight). Midway costs a lot more, is more crowded, and they nickle and dime you. Plus, Midway is just odd. Feel free to drop by there first to see what I mean. Who knows, maybe it's more your style.

No fancy stuff here. Pay the ten peso/pax entrance fee and hit the beach. Bring food and just spread your mat on the sand. Or you can rent in one of the utilitarian cottages.

Cottage rentals are pretty cheap, sand is white, and water is crystal clear. What else can be said?

it's a simple resort and a lot of people go there since the rates of the cottages are cheap.
