The first mountain I climbed, and it is the best! the trek from the jump off point to the camp site was great, you can feel yourself with the nature and the view is great. we used the new trail and it was good. from the camp site to the summit and the monolith was breathtaking and challenging. this mountain made me more interested in mountaineering. overall: Great!

Having been raised in the mountainous region of Cordillera, it has been a struggle for me to live in such a humid lowland area in Cavite. That's why I was greatly overjoyed when I have found out that there are lots of mountains surrounding the Cavite flat lands. 3 years ago, the first mountain that we climbed was Mt. Pico de Loro also known as Mt. Palay-Palay, it is considered the highest peak in Cavite at 664 meters above sea level. I recommend this kind of trek to begginers who has a pair of very strong legs and a lot of endurance and stamina. It is better if you do some physical training a week or 2 before your climb. I can assure you all the sweat and maybe tears while going up is all worth it once you reach the summit.Bring enough water, take a lot of photos and remember to dispose your trash properly.

Difficult but worth every sweat once you get to the top. It was summer during our first visit. We got to see the picturesque view from the top. However, it was cold and foggy when we visited the second time around. It was raining but not that slippery.

If you will climb via Ternate route, you will have to pay 30Php for DENR and another 25Php at the Ranger station. CR is only available at the DENR before or after hiking. 5Php per use.Food such as Softdrinks, Noodles, coffee and Halo2 is available at the summit. Though it's pricey, It's good if you don't want to carry heave load or this is also serve as a help to the locals.Also make sure to to check the weather before climbing. :)

Be sure to check the weather before climbing Mt. Pico de Loro. I climbed the mountain twice already. During our first climb, I was blown away by the beauty of the two peaks - the summit and the monolith. However, during our second climb, it was really foggy, so no view is visible and we weren't allowed to continue to the summit and the monolith for safety purposes. After a day hike at the mountain, you can have a side trip at the waterfalls (Ternate trail), then hire a tricycle to take you to Marine Base (Boracay de Cavite). You can also take another route, and go down Nasugbu, Batangas for more wide variety of beaches. Though Marine Base is a good choice for a side trip, too.

We just went for a weekend. The expectations were good since we heard stuff about the place. The rooms are located far from the beach. It seems that you are in the city, since the rooms are in a building. The utilities are nice. The food was bad and service as well. The restaurant smells like coconut oil. Thanks to the waiter Leo, he was very accommodating. The rooms are quite pricy for what it is and they charge you for every single extra thing. The recepcionist Harleen was rude, very rude. All around we had a good weekend. However, we prefer Punta Fuego.

Climb is generally gentle but gets steep for the last 20 mintues or so, but no climbing gear is needed. The trail is generally clearly marked, but we got off the trail once on the way up. There is one left turn by a big tree on the descent that is easy to miss. Food is available at the very bottom where you register. There were no insects at the end of January, 2014. On a Wednesday we saw about a dozen other people the whole day. On a Sunday, there were 15+ at the registration area and I presume 100 or so doing the climb. We did not find anything else much to do in the area other than this climb.

Another falls experience, good thing u can just stand right below the falls--perfect if u can't swim. Perfect combination of easy terrain at the start then gets steeper up to the peak. Great view of the South China Sea once on top (prepare for a group of buzzing insects--seems that they thrive there!) and don't hesitate to climb the parrot beak, experience wouldn't be complete without it. I recommend to descend by traversing to the Nasugbu highway for an entirely different experience from the ascending part.

I have visited this natural park in Ternate-Marogondon Cavite for four times (last: 1st weekend of March 2013) and every climb is an experience. We conducted field trips in this mountain due to its biodiversity and proximity in Manila. Climbing this mountain will give you time to bond with your friends/family (whoever is with you). It is considered a minor climb since you may reach the camp site in 3-4 hours depending on your pace. You should first register at the DENR office at the foothills of the mountain and on the base camp. The trail is not that easy for beginners because of its terrain (slope). Although the elevation of this mountain is not high (about 6++ masl), the peak (similar to a bird's beak) boasts of a very nice view of the province of Cavite and the nearby beach. It is suggested to plan your trip during weekdays since the campsite may be full during weekends of summer season. Temperature at the campsite may also reach 13 deg Celsius during night time. Prepare also for downpour especially during early morning even on a summer season. Campsite is just a strip of land without any structure (i.e. bunker house) you have to bring you camping tents and gear for the climb.
