We visited this place during Fiesta, and as a result, Subic 1 was too crowded and too noisy for an overnight stay (There's videoke for rent on the island, can you believe that? :). We took the boatmen's advice and decided to stay in the less crowded side of the island which is also known as Subic 2.
A majestic place and perfect for family gathering. The sand is as pure as snow, better than Boracay and less expensive and less touristy!
Earns my 9th spot in my top ten best destinations in the south, the scenery is breathtaking, it is an Island that offers absolute tranquility and harmony. A place suitable for "getting away from it all" people, however I've also noticed that this paradise needs some major make over. Like any other top notch Island destinations, Subic beach needs a total solid waste management plan. When I visited the Island, I saw garbages being washed away from the sea like diapers, plastic cups, styro foams, cigarette butts, broken glasses, plastic bottles mostly plastic made products, a true sign of Humanity's wrath to mother nature, the Island like I mentioned is poorly maintained. There are no food shops where you can grab a drink. When you go the island, you are required to bring your own foodies. You might wanna consider applying double layers of sunblock especially during summer because the sun is blazing hot here. The island has no LIFEGUARD or mobile health unit on stand by, your children is your own responsibility so try leashing your little apes at all times. There are available bathrooms on the island but expect an unpleasant odor :D You can spend a night on the island but try to bring your own tent. Over all, Subic beach is truly a magnificent place to visit. Boat rentals can be availed at the tourism office located at the port of Matnog, All tourists should sign up at the tourism office as it is required by the local government. (terms and fees apply)My personal rating (1/5)Scenery ★★★★★Cleanliness ★★★Amenities ★★Local services (health unit / lifeguard) ★
My mother is from Barcelona Sorsogon but i have no idea that this province has its own hidden paradise. Until our relatives invited us for an island hopping to Matnog. Subic Beach is located in Subic Daco, in Matnog Sorsogon. A 30-minute boat ride from Matnog, Sorsogon Port. Tourist fee is 75 pesos per head and boat rental for island hopping is 1600php for day tour and 2000php for overnight. Subic and Tiklig beach are an unexplored island with pinkish sand, clear aquamarine waters, cool breeze air, and a very tranquil atmosphere. These islands are known for it’s white sand with a touch of pink because of crushed red corals. The water is super clear and cold even in the hottest temperature of midday. Truly a hidden gem of the province and we are so lucky to explore and enjoy these islands at its unspoiled state. We will definitely go back next summer!
My relatives took me here for a fun day trip. We took a banca from matnog for 2000 pesos round trip . It was about a 30 min ride to the island . We also stopped at a fishery pond around the island . The Beach was clean , amenities like kitchen , BBQ area, even a karaoke bar ! We just got a hut for the day but you can spend the night there in an ac or regular hut . Nice day!
im from sorsogon but i never been there.I saw the stuning picture of the beach really nice.. now am planing to go there. Wat Ever happen its going to bikol....
"Picture Perfect" are two words that aptly describe Subic Island...aka "Malarosa Beach"...in Matnog, Sorsogon. Because of its natural beauty, visitors and tourists have been going back to the island and that includes our family. From summer of 2012 to 2013 to 2014 we've been coming back to spend an overnight stay bringing tents, foods, digicams, etc. to fully enjoy the beauty of nature especially sunrise and sunset scenery. For a group of twenty, a budget of Php 12,000 to Php 15,000 will be enough to cover expenses like food, rental for motorboat and cottage ( budget applies to those coming from Sorsogon City which is a one and a half drive to Matnog ). For more adventures...a motorboat can be rented to bring you to the hidden caves in the island where you can do scuba-diving and capture the fantastic views with a camera. So, if you want not just FUN but ADVENTURE and THRILL...why go too far? Come and visit SUBIC ISLAND...a picture-perfect place where you can experience nature's paradise.
Pink sand, paradise for lovers and romantics.Long journey to Matnog but worth the effort. After arrival in Matnog we found the tourist centre where we booked a room (air con, c/r) and a banca. The journey includes the fish sanctuary however you can only swim with the fish if you have goggles so bring your own. The journey is so beautiful and the destination is a bonus. Bring everything you need (including a tent if you wish to camp). The sand is actually pink and if you are not sure place some on a sheet of white paper and it stands out. The room was basic (though expensive) so I suggest camping for those on a budget.
We've been here just a week from now and I'm simply not over about the beauty and wonders that this place had showed me...the pinkish sand and the rock formations on the islands itself was amazing...i would definitely love to be back there...again and again!!! :)
I never thought that there is place like this in my own town..We'll go back to this place with my friends on my next vacation...I love the sands and man groove trees plus the deep blue sea.
Been here last month and the experience was awesome for a very cheap price. The white sand seems pinkish white in the morning. Fish Sanctuary tour is also great..:)Will definitely come back here soon
We've been here for a family outing and I was amazed by the pink and white sand, huge man groove, the people living in this place is very friendly, helping visitor in terms of need..The fish sanctuary too is awesome and the tikling Island.
Subic beach is truly Bicol's pride! The water is crystal clear especially in the afternoon. Kids would love playing with the white sand and looking for shells. You'll definitely love nature at its best! I recommend that you stay overnight to get the most of the island's beauty. You can set up tent/s either you bring your own or rent to the friendly shop owners. Here are some of helpful information:1. You have to pay to the tourism office P75.00/head as an environmental fee. Kids are free of charge.2. Boat rental costs P1600.00 for day tour and P2000.00 for overnight. This includes visit to the fish sanctuary (Oh you'll love the experience... you'll get to see various kinds of fish. You may even swim with them if you wish); choice of your island: island A: recommended if you have children companion, island B: they said it's more deeper here) and going to the caves, you may even swim going inside)3. Cottage rental costs P350.004. Aircon rooms costs P1700.00/ overnight. Tent rental costs P300.00 You can borrow life jackets to your boatman.
We stayed 3d 2n at Bantigui resort during the easter break. Resort is perfect for lounging on a hammock by the beach. We spent a day island hopping - went to subic and fish sanctuary. Big boat cost us P2000 with guide. We had fresh fish grilled in subic island plus laing and shrimps! If we could stay longer in subic we would. The beach is powdery white with specks of red corals and the water was so clear. Fish sanctuary was also impressive. Tips: buy drinking water good for duration of stay before going to the resort. If u can, buy fresh fish from the market and other ingredients and ask subic caretaker to cook them for you for a small fee. Best also to camp overnight at subic. Bring tent and supplies. And help keep the place clean by not leaving trash.
Amazing amazing view! Cool blue water and has a relaxing atmosphere. Great place for camping with family or with friends.
