This the most pretigious university in Costa Rica. ITs campus is large and totally safe, they have a train station that takes students to and from other cities and universities.

I loved the UCR's atmosphere. Between all the college aged students milling about and the trees, streams, and walkways, it's a good place to hang out, meet friends and have conversations.

The U of CR and it serounding are very Nice to visit and you Will find in the San Pedro and Los Yoses area nice restaurants, very good food and fair prices.

I had the opportunity to visit the University of Costa Rica on business rather than a tourist visit. The campus is large and impressive with some great facilities--this is a major university. The interactions between the environment and the campus are very interesting--the notion of tropical birds, plants and insects adjacent to college buildings is extremely appealing. For example, the activities of the leaf cutter ant colonies were fascinating ....where else can you take a step outside a university building and see such creatures. The area is urban but we had very pleasant times walking around campus.

I lecture there when I visit Costa Rica. It is a thriving and impressive university, with a large and diverse campus.

Do not miss when visiting San Jose. Is has beautiful gardens you can walk along, libraries. coffee shops, movies, music, etc.You can stay the full day discovering different things and activities.

This is a public university but testing is required for admission so many individuals who would not necessarily benefit from the experience are not among those being admitted. The school also runs many certificate courses such as 'Addictions Counselor' and 'Nutritionist.' Classes, of course, are in Spanish. Cost for Costa Ricans is minimal and for non residents it is reasonable; about equal to the cost in community colleges in the US.

It is characterized in its campus buildings not only found, but have been concerned about maintaining a estrechobalance between nature and urban life

This is a very nice university. My husband was there more than 15 years ago doing research with a university from the States. It said the University of Costa Rica was even more impressive now than then.

This is the college where I studied and got my Political Science degree. I have wonderful memories of that time. The Ciudad Universitaria Rodrigo Facio, where the university is located, is a big camp and you need time to walk around. You can visit the faculties and take a look of the life in the campus. Don´t miss it,

Nothing special yo see. Typical city based university. I wouldn't take the time to see it as for a tourist, time is all you have.

The name sounds advancements! but the campus is SO VERY CONFUSING!!! people were very snob! no help! and Feel overcrowded! Too much people! Around. Not much information. the building designs and artworks are sore sights to see! Not very impressive at all! Too SMALL and Too CROWDING! For the name! of Educational place! ??

In the middle of the city, the University of Costa Rica stands as a biological and natural reserve of non-polluted air. The campus is filled with gardens and trails leading to its faculties and buildings. The people are usually friendly, and you should visit at least once the plaza we call "El pretil", which is the core center of social interactions in the university. It is located between the Faculty of General Studies, the Carlos Monge library, and the Faculty of Engineering, at the southern part of the campus. To have the full experience, don't overlook going for a coffee at one of the "sodas" (cafeterias), have some greasy "patacones", and talk about trivial topics with the locals, which are usually very friendly and outgoing.

These a beautiful university. The best Profesors in Central America. If you are a foreigner and looking for a nice location to learn and interact with the Local costaricans who are getting professions somilars to you; the Universidad the Costa Rica has lots of specialities and a good librery.Come and study at Universidad de Costa Rica.

The campus of this University is beautiful and the environment in just wonderful, university faculty just great.
