新市政厅
新市政厅是一座位于玛丽亚广场北侧，19世纪末建造的巍峨挺拔棕黑色哥特式建筑，上面像撒了一层白霜。它的正面窗间壁龛立有拜恩历代君王、圣徒和神话英雄的塑像。整个建筑布局恢宏、装饰华丽，从1867年起用了40年时间才建成。市政厅85米高的钟楼上装置有全德国最大的木偶报时钟（Glockenspiel），每天上午吸引不少游到此观看，特别是初到慕尼黑的人，都不愿错过机会。据说1516年慕尼黑发生大鼠疫，全市有几千人丧生，基余的纷纷逃避他乡，全城十室九空，几成死城。52年后，威谦五世公爵为了恢复和重振慕尼黑，便在这里举行大婚庆典，游行庆祝，与民同乐，热热闹闹，慕尼黑从此恢复兴旺。人们为了纪念这次驱赶“衰气”的大庆典，便在市政厅钟楼的五六层上设置了木偶报时钟。每天11时，12时和17时奏鸣，此时塔阁里许多彩色人像开始动作，或手持斧剑，或骑着骏马，或提着花灯，或吹着洋号，发上下两层，排着队簇拥而出，配合音乐节奏，举手投足，载歌载舞，惟妙惟肖地再现了当年大婚庆典的盛。各种仪式共持续10分钟。这套表演装置是慕尼黑艺术工匠的垂世名作。每天有多少游人翘首仰望这迷人的表演，聆听那清脆响亮的音乐钟声，一睹古代人物的丰采，惊叹德国艺术之高超。
新市政厅左侧是有名的啤酒屋Donisl，右边是旧市政厅（Das Alte Rathaus）。
景点点评
新市政厅是一座哥德式建筑物，整个立面与屋顶布满了尖塔，虽然建筑物表面因岁月而显得脏污与老旧，但在晴朗的天气时依然十分美丽。建筑物里面有着一座贯穿所有楼层的直通楼梯，我们沿着楼梯慢慢参观这栋古老的石造建筑，最后搭乘电梯直上屋顶俯瞰整个慕尼黑旧城区。
位于慕尼黑市中心玛丽恩广场，这里很热闹人多商场也不少，蓝天白云映射下的建筑很令人震撼，上面的钟楼也很精致，估计建造的时候花了不少功夫，值得一去。

要是你在慕尼黑玛丽亚广场的话,可不能错过这个建筑。它装潢精美,有怪兽、雕塑和别的有趣的细节。上面是每天有几个小时显示"婚礼大典"的钟琴(玩偶报时钟)。你也可以乘电梯上到顶部,欣赏到慕尼黑360度的美景,包含玛丽亚广场、圣母教堂和其它一些主要景点。
It is located in the Munich city centre and you can visit here by metro, overground or trams. It is really convenient. You can find different shops, including lots of famous and luxurious brands. You can also find different types of restaurants here. Sometimes, there are some performance about talk show or music. If you want to find inexpensive food or experience local culture, you can visit the nearby local market.
Be sure to take the elevator ride to the viewing deck overlooking old town...at sunset is amazing! The Rathaus plaza is also a great place to just hang out and watch people, performers, and get the vibe of Munich. Location is a great central spot in Munich near the marketplace, St. Peter's Cathedral, not far from the Hofbrau Haus and don't miss the Schmalznudel at Cafe Frischhut!
Beautiful and impressive to see! If you want the best pictures (since it's too tall to photograph up close) go into Hugendubel (the bookstore) and ride the glass elevator. you can take awesome pics from there and the glass is clean enough to get a nice shot :)
If you go to Germany you need,have,and must visit New Town Hall (Neus Rathaus). The design of this building is incredible,you can stay hours looking at the Neus Rathaus, and still discovering a lot of new things. I took a lot of pictures of this amazing place. No regrets!!!
Really nice on the outside,but even better on the inside.And also there are always activities around it.
this place is a land mark in the heart of the city in elite pedestrian shopping area , its an architectural wonder.... really worth a visit , try to find out when the clock strikes to hear the musical bells , i was there at mid day ...you can go inside as well
The building itself is amazing to study. The carvings all along the outside and gargoyles are amazing to see. The building is located in the Marienplatz which will be filled with tourists and surrounded by overpriced cafe's. But it's a must see if you are in Munich. The glockenspiel plays a few times a day and it a treat to watch also.
If you like architecture, then this is a beautiful and interesting building. The glockenspiel is worth seeing, too so make sure you know the times that it will play...I think it's about midday, and again about 5pm
Not only is the building beautiful. If you venture inside to the restaurant, you can elect to eat 'outside' in a courtyard in the center of the building. You can dine on good food and beer while admiring all the fine details of the amazing architecture. 5 stars!
Even from afar, it's a nice sight, sort of like a fairy tale castle. But if you can go near, observe the details of this building and you'll be further impressed.
What can you say about something that has been a landmark for years!! So much to see in the close proximity!
