As you walk into this museum, you are immediately hit with a bank filled with life size wax figures portraying the normal banking day during the 1930's. This is a very impressive display and from afar, looks look real people inside a bank in historical time. After you go through this "fake" bank, you will go into different chambers to view historical items such as gold ingots used, bank notes issued by banks, coins from different historical periods and even modern day currencies of different countries. It is a huge complex that will require you to go up and down flights of stairs. Yes, I would recommend visiting this museum...
The lobby is full of fairly realistic looking wax people who are dressed in old fashioned clothing. The museum was more extensive than my interest in the topic but I liked the two sided glass panes that you can see almost all of the currencies in the world from both sides of the bills.
If you found yourself at Shenyang and think what can do?Move yourself to city center and buy ticket to General Zhang Xue Liang's Mansion. This ticket allow you to enter Finance museum.I been visit many museum at China and this place was somethoing different. When enter inside at first you arrive full size bank replica. Place is big and have a separate sections, like history of money, room for different contries currency, old bank vault etc. This place is worth for visit even if do not like a money!
If you are visiting the residence Zhang Zuolin then with a full ticket you get to see this place also. It is a replica of a bank in old days. It is nice and you should definitely visit this place if you are anywhere near Gugong (Imperial Palace) or residence of Zhang Zuolin.
Set in the former Frontier Bank building this museum tells the story of money in China as it emerged from an imperial federal system to a more westernized banking system. The original service area is preserved and populated with figurines making the room appear to be a thriving 1930's bank. The tour progresses to the vaults and on through six large exhibition areas. A great place to visit on a snowy February day.
